Kayak & Paddle Board sales & rentals, with a complete stock of frequently needed paddler items - PFDs, Paddles, Drybags & dry Packs, Dry & Wet Suits, and related gear.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
An active paddler for over 25 yrs, owner George Sluker has been certified by the American Canoe Association in various kayaking venues such as kayak instruction, swift water rescue, moving water instruction. Motivated to share his love of being on the water, Paddle Shack became a reality - with safe and fun activity at its heart. "Captain Kayak" is also a long time sailing enthusiast, with racing & cruising experience in sloops & schooners from Maine to Key West. Holding a USCG 25 ton Masters License enables George to share sailing and paddling experiences with adventurous vacationers.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Paddle Shack is located on tidal Patcong Creek which allows paddles a wonderful protected location to view nature, enjoy some of the best crabbing in NJ, along with direct access to the bay for catching those record breakers. With two active water accessible nesting sites, Paddle Shack is the only kayak agency in southern NJ offering guided Bald Eagle Tours.
